Recipes
Brownies . This recipe comes from the cookbook I used as a child. Mom reintroduced me to it recently, and I'll never go back to a box mix for brownies again.
Carrot Cake .
My mom made this cake when I was small. It's one of my favorite
desserts from my childhood.
Creamy Tomato Basil Pasta. My own invention. It came out of reading the ingredients of a recipe, but not the instructions. I added a few extra things to make it work, and boy, does it!
Cheesecake. Chocolate, swirl, raspberry, mocha, mint. Using this basic recipe, you can bake just about any flavor of cheesecake you want. Cheesecake is easier to make that you might think.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte. I thank my sister-in-law Sherry Volkmann, who introduced me to this devilishly light dessert.
Beef Broccoli Pie. As I've gotten older, I've gotten the tasties for broccoli. What's THAT about?
Irish Cream . You'll never buy Bailey's Irish Cream again! This is the no-raw-egg version, which I prefer.
Lori's Artichoke Pasta. A quick-and-easy, flavorful pasta dish. I call this Lori's pasta dish because I got the recipe from her. People who have this at my house call it Rebecca's pasta dish. Somewhere, some poor chef didn't get credit. (Sorry!)
Potato Soup: Make it as creamy as you want. Easy substitutions.
Raspberry Liqueur
. aka "The Recipe" in the Christofferson family. This recipe is care of the late Lee Christofferson, who taught me herself in my very own kitchen! Peace, Lee.
Soufflé French Toast .
Kristin's favorite breakfast! This one is care of the Ellory House Bed
and Breakfast in Duluth, MN -- perfected for my tastes to avoid
sogginess.
Sweet & Crunchy Salad. Can be a meal for one or split between 4 as a side dish. Simple: Almonds + grapes + lettuce + dressing. Another one of my own concoctions.
Tomato Basil Dip. Serve as appetizer with crackers.
Yam & Peanut Soup. A creamy, peanut buttery soup. My dad's recipe and one of my favorites.
